The company, headquartered in San Antonio, has had a board for many years. The six-person board (which also serves as the investment committee for the embedded family office) includes individuals representing three arms of the family, as well as three independent directors. Two of the long-time independent directors were retiring, and the company took the opportunity to strengthen the board and to bring additional sophistication and relevant experience to help with the company’s strategic growth plans.
